Single vision eyeglass lenses
Single vision eyeglass lenses are designed to settle the ordinary vision problems.  For those, who do not see to far or near zone (nearsightedness (myopia) or farsightedness (hyperopia)).

Short-sighted persons see close objects well, but an image in the far distance is blurred and shadows appear around objects.

Hyperopic people have perfect vision in the distance, but encounter difficulties close up (e.g. reading). This disorder is adjusted with the other type of spectacle lenses.

Main feature of this lens – the surface of lens is made of one dioptre.


Bifocal lenses are designed to those who do not see to near and far zones. Bifocals are commonly prescribed to people with presbyopia who also require a correction for myopia, hyperopia, and/or astigmatism. Bifocal eyeglass lenses have two lens powers — one for distance and one for near. The lower half of a bifocal lens contains the near segment for reading and other close-up tasks. The rest of the lens is usually a distance correction, but sometimes has no correction at all in it, if you have good distance vision.

Main feature of this lens – the surface of the lens is divided into two parts, upper part of lens is designed for far vision, lower for near vision.


At about 40 years of age, the closest good viewing point moves away from the eye so that a person can no longer read, write, work and perform other tasks from the normal distance. Such physiological age-related weakness is called presbyopia (gr. presby – old + ops –eye), i.e. age-related farsightedness.

Main feature of this lens – the surface of the lens is divided into three zones, upper part of lens is designed for far vision, middle part of lens –for medium vision zone, lower for near vision.
