Representatives of the Lithuanian digital laboratory Baltic Optical Dimension (BOD), which produces lenses for glasses, participated in the event organised by Schneider GmbH on 18-19 June 2015 in Fronhausen, Germany. The newest German innovations and tendencies in the processes of lens production were presented in the 2-day workshop. Compact Nano-Line equipment, the Nano Line HSC generator and CCP Nano polisher, for the production of FreeForm lenses for glasses, as well as the Modulo lens production line already installed in some factories, were among them. The equipment of Lithuanian Baltic Optical Dimension laboratory and the process of implementation of this project were also presented in detail for the entire optical society. Representatives from Lithuania were very popular among potential partners, and new contacts were established for further development of lens export.
Plans for further cooperation and maintenance of the production line were discussed in the meeting of managers and leading professionals of BOD and Schneider during the event. Examples of good practice were shared among the guests in special workshops at the event. More than 130 invited guests participated in the event, including representatives from the companies Essilor, Hoya, Carl Zeiss, Rodenstock and Fielmann.
